Theodore Roosevelt once said…

Theodore Roosevelt once said, “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.” This simple but powerful quote is a reminder that having confidence in yourself is key to achieving your goals. Some ways to apply this quote to your life and stay motivated and positive.

  1. Set a goal and believe in yourself: Whether it’s starting a new business, running a marathon, or learning a new skill, set a goal and believe that you can achieve it. Visualize yourself succeeding and focus on the steps you need to take to get there.
  2. Surround yourself with positive people: Surrounding yourself with people who support and encourage you can be a great way to stay motivated and positive. Seek out friends, family members, or mentors who believe in you and your abilities.
  3. Practice positive self-talk: The way we talk to ourselves can have a big impact on our confidence and motivation. Instead of focusing on negative self-talk, try to practice positive affirmations and self-talk. Remind yourself that you are capable, worthy, and deserving of success.
  4. Take action: Believing in yourself is important, but it’s also important to take action towards your goals. Break your goals down into smaller, more manageable steps and take action each day towards achieving them.
  5. Celebrate your successes: When you achieve a goal or make progress towards it, take the time to celebrate your successes. Recognize your hard work and efforts, and use that positive energy to keep moving forward.

Theodore Roosevelt’s quote “Believe you can and you’re halfway there” is a powerful reminder that confidence and self-belief are essential to achieving your goals. By setting a goal, surrounding yourself with positive people, practicing positive self-talk, taking action, and celebrating your successes, you can stay motivated, positive, and on track to achieving your dreams.

Taking Risks: Why The Greatest Risk in Life is Not Taking One

Photo by JD Danny on Pexels.com

Lessons from Michael Jordan

In life, we often face difficult decisions and challenging situations that require us to take risks. Whether it’s starting a new business, pursuing a new career path, or trying something new, taking risks can be scary. However, as Michael Jordan once said, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”

The greatest risk in life is not taking one. When we don’t take risks, we limit ourselves and miss out on potential opportunities for growth, learning, and success. Here are some lessons we can learn from Michael Jordan about taking risks:

  1. “I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Michael Jordan’s success was not built on a perfect record, but rather on the many times he failed and the risks he took. By taking risks and pushing himself beyond his comfort zone, he was able to develop the skills and resilience necessary to become one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

  1. “If you’re trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I’ve had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don’t turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”

Taking risks can be challenging, and there will undoubtedly be obstacles and setbacks along the way. However, as Michael Jordan suggests, we shouldn’t let these roadblocks stop us from pursuing our goals. Instead, we should view them as opportunities to learn, grow, and find new ways to overcome challenges.

Taking risks is an essential part of life, and the greatest risk we can take is not taking one at all. By following in the footsteps of Michael Jordan and embracing failure and obstacles, we can learn and grow from our experiences and achieve great things. So, the next time you’re faced with a decision that requires you to take a risk, remember these words of wisdom from Michael Jordan and take the leap.

“Resilience and resourcefulness”: This saying emphasizes the importance of being able to bounce back from setbacks and adapt to changing circumstances. Being resilient means that you can withstand challenges and keep going, while being resourceful means that you can find creative solutions to problems.

Resilience and resourcefulness are two qualities that are essential for navigating the challenges and uncertainties of life. Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity, while resourcefulness is the ability to find creative solutions to problems. Together, these qualities can help us overcome obstacles and thrive in the face of adversity.

Resilience is not about never experiencing difficulties, but about being able to recover from them. It involves being able to adapt to new situations, cope with stress, and maintain a positive outlook in the face of challenges. Resilience also involves being able to learn from our mistakes and failures and to use those experiences to grow and become stronger.

Resourcefulness, on the other hand, is about being able to find creative solutions to problems. It involves being able to think outside the box, be flexible, and use the resources available to us in new and innovative ways. Resourcefulness allows us to overcome obstacles and achieve our goals, even when the odds are against us.

When we combine resilience and resourcefulness, we become better equipped to handle the ups and downs of life. We are able to bounce back from setbacks and find new ways to move forward. We are also able to find solutions to problems that might seem insurmountable and to turn challenges into opportunities.

In our own lives, we can cultivate resilience and resourcefulness by embracing challenges and setbacks as opportunities for growth, and by being creative and resourceful in finding solutions to problems. We can also seek out role models who embody these qualities and learn from their examples. By combining resilience and resourcefulness, we can navigate the challenges of life with confidence and courage, and achieve our goals despite the obstacles in our path.

Humility and Hustle

Photo by Bich Tran on Pexels.com

Humility and hustle are two qualities that are often seen as opposites, but they are actually complementary. Humility is the quality of being modest, humble, and not arrogant, while hustle is the ability to work hard, stay focused, and be persistent in pursuit of our goals. When we combine these two qualities, we can achieve great success without losing sight of what is truly important in life.

Humility is an essential quality that allows us to recognize our limitations and weaknesses, while also appreciating our strengths and talents. It helps us avoid becoming overly confident or arrogant, which can lead to complacency and lack of growth. Humility also allows us to learn from our mistakes and failures, and to seek out feedback and advice from others.

Hustle, on the other hand, is about putting in the effort and taking action to achieve our goals. It involves being proactive, disciplined, and persistent in the face of obstacles and setbacks. Hustle means pushing ourselves outside of our comfort zones and taking risks, even if we might fail. Hustle also requires a strong work ethic and a willingness to put in the time and effort necessary to succeed.

When we combine humility and hustle, we become unstoppable. We are able to work hard and pursue our goals with determination, while also maintaining a humble and grounded perspective. Humility keeps us from becoming too attached to our successes or failures and helps us stay focused on our long-term goals. Hustle keeps us moving forward and making progress, even in the face of challenges and setbacks.

In our own lives, we can cultivate humility and hustle by staying true to our values, working hard, and being open to feedback and advice from others. We can also seek out role models who embody these qualities and learn from their example. By combining humility and hustle, we can achieve great success while also remaining grounded and focused on what truly matters in life.

Curiosity and Creativity

Photo by Rakicevic Nenad on Pexels.com

Curiosity and creativity are two sides of the same coin. They both involve a sense of wonder, a willingness to explore the unknown, and a desire to push boundaries. In this blog post, we’ll explore the relationship between curiosity and creativity and how you can cultivate both in your life.

First, let’s define what we mean by curiosity and creativity. Curiosity is the desire to know or learn something new. It’s the urge to explore, investigate, and ask questions. Creativity, on the other hand, is the ability to come up with new and original ideas, to think outside the box, and to find innovative solutions to problems.

Now, let’s look at how curiosity and creativity are related. Curiosity fuels creativity by inspiring us to seek out new experiences, learn new things, and explore new ideas. It provides the raw material for creativity by exposing us to new information and perspectives.

Creativity, in turn, encourages curiosity by showing us that there are always new and different ways to approach a problem or a task. It allows us to break free from old habits and patterns of thinking and to embrace new possibilities.

So, how can you cultivate both curiosity and creativity in your life? Here are a few ideas:

  1. Keep a journal. Writing down your thoughts and ideas can help you explore your curiosity and tap into your creativity.
  2. Take on a new hobby. Trying something new can spark your curiosity and give you a fresh perspective that can lead to creative breakthroughs.
  3. Travel. Experiencing new cultures, foods, and ways of life can broaden your horizons and inspire new ideas.
  4. Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to ask why things are the way they are or to challenge assumptions. This can lead to new insights and innovative solutions.
  5. Collaborate with others. Working with people from different backgrounds and perspectives can help you see things in new ways and generate new ideas.

By cultivating both curiosity and creativity, you can unlock your full potential and discover new opportunities and possibilities in your life. So go ahead, ask questions, explore new ideas, and embrace your sense of wonder. Who knows what you might discover?

Having Gratitude for the Grit

We often hear the phrase “no pain, no gain” when it comes to achieving our goals and pushing ourselves to be better. But what about the hard work, sweat, and tears that we put into our journey? Sometimes, we can get so focused on the end result that we forget to appreciate the process and the grit it took to get there.

Here are a few reasons why it’s important to have gratitude for the grit:

  1. It reminds us of our strength: When we face challenges and obstacles, it can be easy to feel defeated and lose sight of our own strength. By practicing gratitude for the grit, we remind ourselves of how far we’ve come and how much we’re capable of.
  2. It helps us appreciate the journey: Life is a journey, not just a destination. By having gratitude for the grit, we can appreciate the ups and downs that come with the journey, and find meaning and purpose in the challenges we face.
  3. It fuels us for future challenges: When we overcome challenges and achieve our goals, it can be easy to become complacent and comfortable. By having gratitude for the grit, we stay hungry and motivated for future challenges, knowing that we have the strength and resilience to overcome them.

So, next time you’re facing a challenge or struggling to achieve your goals, remember to have gratitude for the grit. Embrace the hard work and perseverance it takes to get there, and appreciate the journey along the way.

Photo by Valentin Antonucci on Pexels.com

As we grow older, it’s easy to get stuck in our routines and comfort zones, sticking to what we know and avoiding new experiences that may challenge us or push us out of our comfort zone. But there’s something truly magical and invigorating about doing something for the first time, whether it’s trying a new hobby, exploring a new city, or meeting someone new.

Here are a few reasons why it’s important to step out of your comfort zone and do something new:

  1. It can boost your creativity and productivity: Trying something new can stimulate your brain and inspire new ideas, which can be beneficial in both your personal and professional life. Even if you don’t end up sticking with the new activity, the experience can help you think outside the box and approach things in a fresh way.
  2. It can build your confidence: Trying something new can be scary, but it can also be incredibly empowering to step out of your comfort zone and face your fears. Each time you try something new and succeed, you build your confidence and self-esteem, which can have a positive impact on all areas of your life.
  3. It can open up new opportunities: Trying something new can introduce you to new people, places, and experiences that you may not have discovered otherwise. You never know what doors may open up as a result of taking a chance and trying something new.

So, when is the last time you did something for the first time? If it’s been a while, it’s time to shake things up and try something new. Whether it’s something small like trying a new food or something big like taking a solo trip, there’s always something new to experience and discover. So go ahead and take that leap of faith – you might be surprised by how much you enjoy it.

CRITICISM IS NOT FATAL, PRAISE IS FOREVER!

“If you aren’t big enough to stand criticism, you’re too small to be praised.” By Earl Deason. This quote reminds us that we can’t have it both ways.

We can’t expect to be praised and loved by everyone without being able to handle the criticism that comes with it.

Imagine that you’re a balloon. When you’re small, you’re easy to carry around and can fit in any tight space. But, when you’re filled with air, you become big and bold. You stand out in the crowd, and everyone can see you from far away.

Like a balloon, if you want to be praised, you must be big enough to handle criticism. You must be brave enough to put yourself out there and be seen. If you’re too afraid to be criticized, you’ll never be big enough to be praised.

Let me give you two real-life examples to illustrate my point:

Example 1: John is a talented musician. He has a beautiful voice and can play the guitar like a pro. He’s been playing in front of his family and friends for years, but he’s never performed in front of a big audience. He’s afraid that he’ll make a mistake and be criticized.

Example 2: Sarah is a fantastic artist. She loves to paint and draw, and her work is beautiful. However, she’s always afraid to share her work with others because she’s afraid someone might not like it.

In both of these examples, John and Sarah miss out on an opportunity to be praised because they’re too afraid of criticism. They could be commended for their exceptional talents if they were big enough to handle criticism.

So, my friends, if you want to be praised, you must be big enough to handle criticism. But don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and be seen. You never know. You might surprise yourself with how great you are!

In conclusion, you must be big enough to handle criticism if you want to be praised. So don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and be seen. Who knows, you might just become the next big thing!

What’s your life focus: wrinkles and pimples or smiles….

We all have wrinkles, pimples and smiles. If we spent more time looking at the smiles in life and less at the wrinkles and pimples of others, we would be happier and more content people. Less time spent complaining, more time celebrating life, because no one takes anything with them. All is leave behind.

What generation is your life focus: todays or the 3rd-4th generation from now? As s grandfather of 7 little love bugs, my focus is to influence the influencer of the 3rd-4th generation…my future downline. How I treat and respond to my grandkids sets off a ripple affect for my downline. My words are meant to build-up and encourage their spirit. To be THAT voices they need to hear when the world says no. For their yes must be louder and stronger than the world’s no. So choose your words well. They influence the influencers of the 3rd-4th generation from now.

Prosper in all you do. Do good to all. Never forget where you came from. Be humble.
